. It's the last day of September and I woke up disgustingly early filled with excitement and a sense of completion. The Android App is about to hit the market and I am thrilled to finally be able to announce its impending arrival! I will post the links as soon as it is live! WOOHOO! This marks the culmination of a LOT of hard work and a lot of angst. I wasn't so sure I should do apps, but having the Card deck on my phone has been brilliant for those moments when I don't have the space or the inclination to pull out the physical deck and do a reading. I just shake and tap my phone and there is my answer. And it seems the App performs the same magic as the deck, just not quite as real or tangible. I may be old fashioned but I simply LOVE having the real deck as well. 8 months from start to finish! What a journey that has been - I have learned so much. And I simply must credit my awesome and fabulous coder - Ben Wallis. Thank you hon! My huge art sale has begun! You can find it on my facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Marg-Thomson-Visionary-Artist/409222155794529 If you don't have access to facebook, I will be starting a page with a slide show of all the original work offered for sale with prices and instructions. Be patient with me, because I'll be adding to it as the month progresses. A lot of work being offered will not have been out of my house, on show or exhibition. I am a very prolific artist when the muse strikes, so there will be wonderful opportunities to purchase many original pieces well below cost price. Also being offered will be a select number of Mandalas from the Mandala Meditation Guidance Cards - for the first time for sale. These will also be heavily discounted. I have chosen to do this because lately it has become increasingly apparent that it's time to let go of the story of me that was and embrace and live the story that is me NOW. It is time to let go of the baggage chaining me to a past that has kept me ill and a victim. It is time to let go of the stuff I cannot change, no matter how many times I try. It is time to simply just Let It GO! Now is the time for me. For the story that is taking shape as I type these words on this screen. It is time to celebrate the woman I am, not mourn the girl I was. It is time to shout HALLELUJAH to the world! I am becoming someone I really and truly like and appreciate. I guess it's time to believe all my friends finally LOL! I like my life. I like who I am. I love the people who are walking this journey with me. I love that I am finally starting to heal and grow. I love that I can see the light now more than the dark.... What a gift I have been given. I fully intend to realise it before I die. Which I will, hopefully when I am very old and very tired. I don't fear death, I have seen what lies beyond and it fills me with love, not fear. I just fear dying before I have had a chance to fully live. For the first time, I choose that path with joy and love and a great sense of adventure. I would like to thank every single person and creature who has helped me get to the point I stand at today. Mostly though, I'd like to thank myself, because above all, I am a strong, strong woman! With LOVE and BLESSINGS wherever you are and whatever you are doing! xoxox Marg Thank you to my sister Carol McCoy for the fantastic and wonderful song she wrote: I'm just about ready to start inking my latest drawing and I'm quite excited about it! Funny how your art changes over time... At one stage, all I could paint were mandalas. And that was good. I was dealing with a lot of suppressed and repressed emotion and trauma and the healing nature of painting mandalas was therapeutic and wonderful. I'm still drawing them and making them available for public download and use because while my journey through the mandala may be all but complete, there are many MANY others out there who will just be starting, or needing a boost along the way. I had a wonderful market day on Saturday with Happy Hippie Markets - an online facebook market! It was both nerve wracking and really good fun! Met lots of lovely people and had a blast:) Looking forward to the next one:) I also made a momentous decision. I am an extremely prolific artist and for years, despite many exhibitions and shows, work has been stacking up in my 'spare' room (hahaha) and now it's time for it to go and find new owners. So I have decided to celebrate my birth month this October with a grand sale of original artwork. Many of the canvasses on offer will be from the Mandala Meditations Guidance Cards. Many have never been seen:) So on October 1, on my facebook Page and here on my website, I will be offering selected artworks for up to 75% off !!! so stay tuned and watch this space for more details! Have a fantastic week everyone! Love and Blessings:) It's Friday night and I'm exhausted. Been run off my feet this week and I'm paying the price. But so many amazing things have happened and I just went with the flow of it all and said YES to all the opportunities that came my way.
As a result of meeting some amazing people last Sunday, I'm teaching a 4 week course at The Peaceful Feather in Kilsyth starting Tues October 8 from 12.30-2.30. There's only one place left despite only setting this up last Tuesday :) Thank you Karen:) This will be wonderful :) I'm well known for taking on strange and amazing challenges, especially the creative kinds. Wednesday arvo, I received a phone call from a guy asking me if I'd go and take pictures of a hot air balloon lifting a pallet of beer. I had to ask him to repeat himself coz I wasn't really sure that's what he had actually said. So with only an hours notice (when balloons go up, they go up quick to take advantage of weather conditions) I got my gear organised and drove the distance to Dixons Creek to Global Ballooning to meet Eric, the owner of Grandridge Brewery who was waiting with... Yes, a pallet load of beer! The balloon was harnessed to the pallet and a little while later, lifted it up into the heavens. Heaven for many a bloke, I tell ya! I documented the process with the little light remaining in the gorgeous late Spring arvo sunshine and then went home, emptied the card onto my computer and went virtually straight back out again to Kellys, in Olinda, to have dinner with friends and catch up with the awesome talent of the Wednesday night Open Mic Night! Thursday saw me attending the most amazing reading by my friend Isobel Blackthorn accompanied by her partner and my friend Alex Legg on guitar. It was a totally awesome hour or so and I was captivated. I 'filmed' the session (LOL - I sat behind the camcorder hahaha) and am looking forward to the next - thanks heaps guys - you were brill! Friday saw me meeting with Nancy Orsini Princi from Global Onslaught to talk about my beautiful sister Carol McCoy LOL - no seriously, we did, among other things:) Love you Carol! Then I sorta passed out in the chair with only 2 pages of my Stephen King novel to read... o_O Tomorrow I have my first ever online market! The Happy Hippie Markets on facebook are hosting a weekend market of which I will be part of:) I will be selling off some card decks and some prints :) Come along and join in the fun! All through this week, we have been working hard on the Android App, which is proving to be a naughty little monster! It's keeping us frustrated and antsy but hopefully it will be ready really soon!!!!!!!!! The Apple one is going great guns - just visit the App page:) And as soon as the Android app hits Play Store, the facebook freebie will be up and running with all the links:) Anyhoo - I am feckin' knackered and need sleep:) Have a brilliant weekend everyone:) Love and Blessings <3 <3 <3 I haven't done so much for such a long time. I stepped way out of my comfort zone and met amazing like-minded and gorgeous people all day Sunday - it was a blast! I am no longer a Psychic Fair virgin LOL! It was a very interesting and rewarding experience on many levels and I am grateful it was a small one.
Physically, it wasn't good to do a whole day. The FMS has kicked in big time and it even hurts to type. I am sore all over. If I wasn't so busy this week LOL, I'd have a rest :) But I will pace myself and nurture and look after me, this week:) The Android App should be release very VERY soon! Stay tuned for announcements! I'm hanging to get this one out, because I have a Samsung LOL and really want it on my phone! The Apple one is performing well - check out my App page for links or just go here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mandala-meditations-guidance/id538379586?ls=1&mt=8 The Facebook freebie short version should be up soon too - will make announcements about that one as soon as the Android version is up:) And now for the most exciting news of all! I couldn't wait until 9am LOL! It was a very difficult process judging the winner of the Tell Me Why? Competition - such brilliant entries and so many very worthwhile people sending me their reasons why they need a deck:) It took me two full days of looking at each entry and seeing how it resonated with me and so, finally, this morning after a good sleep I woke up and looked at them all again and the one that kept going straight to my heart was this one: "I must have the Mandala Deck to give as a gift to a friend in desperate need of some beautiful guidance" Congratulations Rachel Hogan! Your selflessness and your generosity just struck me deeply. An email is winging its way to you now:) In all honesty, it amazed me how many of you asked to win this deck for someone else! You beautiful people, you! No wonder I had such a hard time choosing! I am so very grateful to you all for participating in this competition. Thank YOU all so much:) And now, off to unpack after a hectic weekend; get the apps finished; finish the centaur; go pay the bills; post card decks; clean up the house; pat the cat; finish the things I started Friday and haven't finished and MAYBE have time for a nana nap this arvo:) Love & Blessings xoxox I'm SOOOOOOOO excited! The iPhone, iPad and iPod APPS are finally available in both the full version for $1.99 and the free lite version! Months of hard work has finally paid off and I am so pleased and proud to be able to announce the iTunes release of the App for the Mandala Meditations Guidance Cards! http://itunes.apple.com/app/mandala-meditations-guidance/id538379586?mt=8 Stay tuned for the announcement of the release of the Android and Facebook versions! Thanks to Ben for being patient and hanging in there and riding the big wave with me:) You rock kiddo! xoxox Marg |
