"But it's NOT Spring!"
How many times have I heard people say that in the past couple of weeks? Heaps of times. And I keep repeating - who says it's NOT Spring? Just because 'someone' said Spring started on the 1st September... Does the planet keep a calendar? Does the solar system revolve around the government? Do the plants really care that it's NOT September 1?
No. Of course they don't. Because it IS Spring. And I have hayfever. This year is the worst it has ever been. If the itchy sore eyes aren't bad enough, the runny nose and the dry cough with the sore throat make it that way. Worse still is the migraine like headache. I'm so thankful for Claratyne! I get so grumpy when I feel like crap - I don't feel like creating. I don't tolerate small screaming children... oh wait. Thats not the hayfever LOL! Anyhoo, hopefully the plant will stop flowering soon and I will be back to what passes as normal for me.
I took my camera out for a walk yesterday. Wanted to take some photos in the fog. But I mist it (cheeky grin). However, I took a couple of interesting shots, came home and turned them into photo quotes - you know, like the ones running round on facebook. I kinda like doing this stuff cause it's miles from the mandalas and I can get quite lost and calm in the creating. Very Zen like. It got me feeling good about my art again and got me thinking about new directions. I was stagnating a bit with the seeming permanence of the grey wet weather. Sunshine, warmth and a camera helped turn that around.
I also taught myself how to create backgrounds for websites on the weekend. You can see the results here on my pages. I'm thinking of doing a whole series of tiles for use - what do you think? I think they'd be a great extra source of income for this struggling artist:) And I also think I am nearly ready to start doing the markets soon - so Melbournites watch out for me at St Andrews, Warrandyte and Kallista Markets! I'm hoping a friend of mine will be doing them with me - she's awesome:)
So Spring Fever has struck - both in the nose and in the creativity! Looking forward to what is coming:)
Love and Blessings!
