Hello lovelies. It's Spring! And hello hayfever... For the past couple of years, I've had hayfever starting from June and running through into October. It's getting worse each year - ageing, fibromyalgia, pollens... sigh.
I've been painting a mandala for about two months. I was so stuck in August, so down, I didn't do anything at all except look at it and then walk away. I couldn't even pick up a paint brush. Finally, I sat down with some friends last week and made myself paint. I decided that even if I put ten coats of the same colour on, at least I was doing something instead of sitting there and whingeing about doing nothing at all...
So I painted. Quite a few coats of the same colour :D And then I added another colour... And changed another...
Next day when I got up, I looked at it sitting forlornly on the easel and realised that the reason I was stuck was the unicorns. They weren't meant to be there. Originally, when I started drawing the design, I wanted to put butterflies into it. But I made myself put unicorns in because I was worried about doing too many butterfly mandalas.
When I took the unicorns out and put the butterflies in, it worked. Everything worked. It all just fell into place and became effortless and joyful. Perhaps I needed to go through that process again to remind myself AGAIN of the lesson learned.
I know what is right for me.
And if I choose to go against that knowledge, nothing works out right until I walk the path of my own choosing.
I trust myself.
And thus I give you "A Song Of Spring".
This mandala has a heart of gold. Celtic butterflies form a grid and protection over the heart - a protective boundary that is expansive and nurturing. The butterflies give wings to the soul for the journey onward and outward into the light; into the blossoming of the spirit and the flowering of the creative heart as symbolised by the lotus. Strongly anchored by the masculine in the rose gold border, this mandala is enriched by the divine feminine lotus blossom and foliage and encircled by the magic and mystery in the starry void.
Love and Blessings,
May you walk in Beauty
