The most wonderfully warm autumn day is making me so happy today. I was going to work on the Green Man mandala, but the sunshine is too tempting to resist - so I am going to quickly update this blog and then head outside to play. Winter is on its way and there won't be many more days like this!
from This is a progress shot of the Green Man mandala. It's really powerful. Much is happening with the creation of this work and it's triggering stuff in me that I'm having to process as I progress in the painting. This will be a mixed media work. I'm doing all the underpainting with acrylics and then coloured pencil will go over the top (plus some blingy bits of course lol).
I do have a design pencilled in for the centre, but this mandala won't be finished in a hurry. In fact, I think this one will wait until I get back from my overseas trip to complete. I feel I'll be bringing something back home with me from Ireland, or Scotland, or Wales, or Paris, or London which will fit in the centre...
There's also a deep and passionate sensuality about this painting that I am finding is entwined with the autumn/equinox theme. It's as though the passion is slumbering, banked, waiting until Spring sticks it's delicate little fingers into the mix and fires it all up again... Hmmmmmmm...
Well, that's it from me for today - the beautiful sunshine beckons and I've got things to do!
